Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy

Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) was originated by Albert Ellis, Ph.D. in the mid-1950's. Unlike most Cognitive Therapies which attempt to modify a client's dysfunctional congition processes, REBT is founded on a more philosophical approach( Ellis, 1993) In a nutshell, REBT focuses on helping people discover their dysfunctional irrational beliefs that guide their behavior and attempts to replace them with rational thoughts.

Greetings!

Dear students of social work,

We hope that you've grasped some of the main concepts of REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioural Therpy ) from our website and role play on the short video clip .
This blog is specially created for students like yourself and for us to engage in an online- discussion regarding the use of REBT as a counselling concept for clients. Now and then as the group ( and even yourself ) goes about doing research on REBT, we will be posting some comments from various websites which postulate for and against the usage of this theory to help to-be social workers like you decide whether you would like to use this form of counselling for a certain group of clientile.

It is our group's desire that this blog will be a platform for a creative and fun learning process for all students of social work.

Should you have any queries, do post your comments online! =)
